UFC bantamweight contender John Lineker has withdrawn from Saturday's UFC 219 fight against Jimmie Rivera because of a tooth infection, according to a report by MMAFighting.com.
The fight had been scheduled for the main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which will be headlined by a women's featherweight title bout between Cris "Cyborg" Justino and Holly Holm.
Lineker (30-8), will undergo emergency surgery, according to MMAFighting.com.
He is the second opponent to have to withdraw from the Dec. 30 fight with Rivera (21-1). Rivera, originally was supposed to face former champion Dominick Cruz on the end-of-year card, but Cruz was forced to pull out with an arm injury last month.
Several bantamweight contenders, including Marlon Moraes, already have taken to social media to express interest in replacing Lineker to fight Rivera on short notice. Moraes (19-5-1) is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Aljamain Sterling on Dec. 9.
