There has been a major update on the possible rematch between Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada.
Bryan Danielson recently suffered a broken orbital bone injury during his match with Andrade El Idolo on Collision, which is believed to keep him out of action for the remainder of 2023.
With NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 18 event set to take place on January 4, Bryan’s status for the show was very touch and go.
However, the match is now officially on following today’s NJPW Power Struggle event.
Bryan appeared in a video on the show, wearing a bandage over his injured eye, where he challenged Okada to a match at Wrestle Kingdom, promising to break his arm in the match, just like Okada did to Bryan at Forbidden Door, so that he can never hit the Rainmaker again.
Okada accepted Bryan’s challenge, vowing to defeat him with that very move.
Bryan isn’t the only AEW star to challenge Okada, as Claudio Castagnoli also recently challenged him to a match following their recent tag team encounter on Dynamite.
An eye for an eye, an arm for an arm on the mind of the American Dragon!@bryandanielson has challenged Kazuchika Okada for Wrestle Kingdom 18!
