A WWE star has been written off TV ahead of his imminent departure from the company with his contract set to expire.
After Bron Breakker defeated Ilja Dragunov on Raw tonight, Breakker once again attempted a post-match beatdown at ringside.
However, springing onto the scene was Ricochet, who saved Dragunov and forced Breakker to back away.
That was where the segment ended at that point, but it wasn’t the end of the story for the night.
Later on, while Ricochet was shown attending to Dragunov backstage, Breakker ran up on them and took Dragunov out.
There was then a brawl between Ricochet and Breakker that went all the way to the parking lot, and may well have spelled the end of Ricochet’s WWE career.
Breakker got himself and Ricochet up onto a platform and delivered a gnarly looking powerslam from said platform onto the windshield of a car.
Ricochet was then stretchered into an ambulance with his real-life fiancée Samantha Irvin crying by his side.
That appears to be him written off WWE TV with his exit from the company imminent this summer. There’s always a possibility things could change, but reports state that tonight was his final scheduled date.
While not yet confirmed, and technically negotiations can’t even begin until his WWE contract expires, Ricochet is expected by most to join AEW.
Current AEW International Champion Will Ospreay, who wrestled Ricochet many years ago, recently said publicly that he wanted a rematch in AEW.
