Here’s what happened with Cody Rhodes after the October 4 SmackDown episode went off the air, ahead of Bad Blood.

The WWE Champion has a big match lined up for the October 5 premium live event, with Rhodes set to team with Roman Reigns during the OTC’s in-ring return to face off against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
While we just received a special look at this match during the live broadcast, Rhodes made a live appearance after the show went off the air.
After the cameras stopped rolling, Rhodes defeated Austin Theory of A-Town Down Under in a dark match.
Rhodes addressed the crowd following this match, noting that he believes that he and Roman will ‘dog walk’ the Bloodline at Bad Blood.

Expecting to remain WWE Champion for a while, Rhodes said:
“That’s right, me and the OTC Roman Reigns take out Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu. Well, as dangerous as those men are, and they have proven it, and they even proved it more tonight, I think we are going to dog walk them.
“Considering I’m in someone’s way, I’m in their way in life, however you put it, I’ll put it to you this way. At the end of the night, I still will be WWE champion.
“At the end of the month, I will still be WWE champion. The next time we are in Nashville, Tennessee I will still be WWE champion.”
