Justice Pain passes away aged 41
We're saddened to learn that Chris Wilson - better known to the wrestling world as former Combat Zone Wrestling champion Justice Pain - has passed away at the age of 41. No cause of death has been given at this time.
CZW confirmed the sad news in a Tweet this morning:
We here at CZW are heartbroken to learn of the untimely passing of Chris Wilson, AKA Justice Pain.— Combat Zone Wrestling (@combatzone) January 25, 2020
Chris was a Combat Zone original, multiple champion, and a true CZW legend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and loved ones. RIP. pic.twitter.com/4wRDYu4eTQ
Wilson, born 16 May 1978, got his start in the business courtesy of John Zandig at the CZW Wrestling School. He, alongside his brother Nick 'Gage' Wilson, quickly became one of the stars around which the embryonic wrestling promotion was built. In 2000, he defeated Lobo at Cage of Death II for the company's top title - a year after beating the same opponent for the CZW Iron Man Championship.
In 2003, Wilson left CZW for XPW, ultimately facing the late Chris Candido in the company's last ever match. He later returned to Philadelphia, where he spent the majority of the rest of his career, which also included stints in Big Japan Wrestling.
Outside the ring, Wilson was a father to two daughters. JJA Sport Studio sends our most sincere condolences to Wilson's family and friends.
