MAJOR change to tonight's RAW lineup announced
Dolph Ziggler won't be wrestling for the WWE Championship on tonight's RAW after all.
As noted by the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer in Sunday's Daily Update column, Ziggler's The Horror Show at Extreme Rules rematch with Drew McIntyre has been changed to a non-title affair. There's no word on why WWE made the change, particularly after framing it as a title fight on last week's episode of RAW, though Meltzer notes that McIntyre will still name the stipulation.
McIntyre defeated Ziggler at Extreme Rules, fighting 'The Show-Off' with an imbalanced stipulation stating the belt could change hands if McIntyre was disqualified or counted out but Dolph wasn't beholden to these rules.
Randy Orton still looks like Drew's likeliest opponent for SummerSlam 2020. It has been rumoured that 'The Viper' could take the WWE Championship from the Scot so that he can defend it against Edge sometime next year, though the exact timetable for 'The Rated R Superstar's' return from injury is yet to be determined. WWE.com's RAW preview states that Orton will name his "next target" tonight.
Also on deck for RAW is a Women's Championship bout pitting Asuka against Sasha Banks, who stole the belt at Extreme Rules.
