Update on Tyson Fury's WWE future
With plentiful rumours on what the future holds for Tyson Fury where it pertains to a WWE ring, there’s now an update on the Gypsy King’s status with WWE.
Having made his in-ring debut at last October’s Crown Jewel event, there’s been talk of Fury competing at WrestleMania 36 or even as soon as this month’s Royal Rumble PPV. According to the usually reliable @WrestleVotes, any future WWE involvement from Fury hangs on how the boxer fares against Deontay Wilder.
Fury vs. Wilder II is set for February 22nd, and the result of that fight will dictate Tyson Fury’s WWE future. Should Fury end up losing that fight, Vince McMahon is hesitant to offer up a major ‘Mania payday to somebody who’s just been defeated on such a global stage. If Fury emerges victorious, of course, than he can presumably name his own price for an appearance at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Tyson Fury last appeared on WWE programming during the November 8th episode of SmackDown that emanated from Manchester, England. Despite reports to the contrary, Fury is not being considered as a possible opponent for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.
Either way, it appears that any future for Tyson Fury in a WWE ring is tied to how Fury performs against Deontay Wilder next month.
