Mark Freund of WHO-HD caught up with Kurt Angle for a brief interview recently, and the WWE legend discussed his decision to leave the company for TNA in 2006.

Kurt Angle retired as a professional wrestler at WrestleMania 36, and since then, he has been working as a backstage producer on Monday Night Raw. Angle recently did an interview with Chris Van Vliet in which they discussed The Wrestling Machine’s new role, his battles with painkiller addiction, and almost fighting Vince McMahon.

At WrestleMania 35 Kurt Angle competed in his retirement match, losing to Baron Corbin. Since then, he’s sporadically appeared on WWE TV, but has predominately spent his time backstage as a producer.
