Details have emerged on last-minute changes made to Wednesday’s (August 30) edition of AEW Dynamite.

This week’s show was a unique one. Not only was it the first AEW show since the historic August 27 All In London event, it also acted as the final ‘go-home’ episode of Dynamite ahead of the September 3 All Out pay-per-view.
Despite this, a number of notable stars didn’t appear on the show live from Chicago.

Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, talent missed the show for a variety of reasons.
Meltzer noted that Kenny Omega and others living in Florida didn’t make it to the taping because of Hurricane Idalia.

Noting that Swerve Strickland and new AEW Women’s Champion Saraya missed the show due to illnesses, Meltzer said:
“They were gonna do stuff to build that up tonight but because of the hurricane, Kenny Omega didn’t make it.
“A lot of the Florida people…you know tonight’s show was totally redone at the last minute because Saraya & Swerve were pulled from the show for illness reasons.
“I know a bunch of Florida guys, including Omega, because of the hurricane couldn’t get out of Florida to get to Chicago.”
