A former WWE star won his AEW in-ring debut on tonight’s October 16 episode of Dynamite, and later a big second match was confirmed.

On tonight’s AEW Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin made his AEW in-ring debut as he took on Lio Rush with another former WWE star by his side.
MVP was at ringside for Shelton Benjamin whilst Rush was accompanied by Leila Grey.
Despite Lio Rush’s best efforts, Benjamin would not be denied as he remained dominant throughout and in the end, captured the win.

When the match was over, MVP got on the microphone to tell Swerve Strickland that Lio Rush being laid out by Benjamin was a look at Strickland’s future.
MVP would also go on to refer to Benjamin specifically as the ‘Standard of Excellence’, a play on his ‘Gold Standard’ nickname in WWE.
After the commercial break, Swerve addressed the challenge from MVP by saying that anywhere, anyway, anyhow, he will be there.

Later in the show, it was confirmed that Swerve Strickland will face off against Shelton Benjamin at the Halloween-themed AEW Fright Night Dynamite on October 30.
Bobby Lashley has also reportedly signed with AEW, and although he has yet to appear, he is expected to be part of MVP and Benjamin’s group.
