In addition to his throwback entrance at tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing, Adam Copeland had some vintage WWE assistance in the match too.
After Copeland was thrown through the door of the cage, it allowed time for the House of Black (Buddy Matthews and Brody King) to appear at ringside.
While for a moment it seemed that they had shifted alliances and were going to join Copeland, instead they ended up attacking him and helping Malakai Black.
Back in the ring, the trio was primed to viciously attack Copeland as they had him held down and wearing a barbed wire crown in a crucifix pose when suddenly the lights went out.
After some spooky lighting effects, the ring opened up and from beneath appeared – WWE legend Gangrel.
Closing the loop on Copeland’s throwback entrance that featured the phrase ‘The Brood’ on the entrance graphic, two-thirds of the vintage squad reunited.
Of course, the original group also featured Christian Cage, who later in the show will challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship.
Elsewhere on the pay-per-view, Will Ospreay picked up his first AEW title and there were several big returns.
Not only did Juice Robinson make an appearance, there was a full return segment from MJF.
