Another AEW Championship match was confirmed on tonight’s Dynamite for the upcoming pay-per-view, Forbidden Door.

On tonight’s Dynamite, a singles match took place featuring Saraya in her first bout of 2024 taking on Mariah May, which was originally announced for last week but didn’t take place.
With AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm at ringside on commentary, the match would not end in her protege’s favor.

Locked in a submission hold, May had to quit verbally (since her arms were otherwise occupied, pulled behind her in the hold) as Saraya scored the win.
After Toni Storm got in the ring to console May, Saraya and Harley Cameron attacked the pair until there was a run out.

STARDOM star Mina Shirakawa ran out to protect Mariah May, leading to a new match being announced.
It was revealed via match graphic that Mina Shirakawa will challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Forbidden Door.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, Roderick Strong challenged Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship in the main event.
