A match for Chris Jericho was announced for the upcoming AEW Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view when an in-ring announcement went awry.
Multiple new matches were confirmed for AEW Forbidden Door on pay-per-view this Sunday, June 30 including one with a Presidential appearance.
As the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada of The Elite continue to feud with The Acclaimed, a new trios match was announced for AEW Forbidden Door.
The aforementioned members of The Elite will have a trios match against a special Forbidden Door pairing, as The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) will team with NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, The Elite noted that they had personally assigned the ‘Wild Card’ entrant in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
Also on Dynamite, another trios match was seemingly about to be revealed as Chris Jericho and Big Bill announced that they would be replacing the injured Bryan Keith with a surprise for Samoa Joe, HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata at AEW Forbidden Door.
Their partner was poised to revealed to be Minoru Suzuki, but in his reveal video for the appearance, Suzuki instead challenged Jericho to a one-on-one match at the pay-per-view for the FTW Title.
With Jericho and Bill now still without a third partner, Samoa Joe, HOOK and Shibata came to the ring and the two sides of their upcoming match ended up brawling, with mystery still surrounding who will come under The Learning Tree to replace Bryan Keith, who has an arm injury.
