Will Ospreay was revealed as AEW’s new signing at Full Gear on November 18, 2023, signing a multi-year deal.

With his NJPW contract due to expire in February 2024, Ospreay had interest from a number of companies, including WWE.
In the AEW Full Gear press conference, he would reveal his reasons for signing with AEW, saying it was the:
“best decision for me and my family, I’m not interrupting my kid’s school, my missus can still see her parents…”

His AEW contract would allow him to reside in the United Kingdom and is reportedly a deal that will see Ospreay in the company “over three years”.
He would also still be able to accept selected NJPW dates, with Great-O-Khan confirming Ospreay is still a member of United Empire.
It has recently been revealed that Ospreay turned down a “fantastic, massive offer” from IMPACT Wrestling/TNA.
According to PWInsider, the deal was a “seven figure level offer” with a source stating it was “likely the largest offer to a single star since Anthem took over ownership of the company.”

The source also noted that there was a positivity to Ospreay signing with IMPACT Wrestling after he had “such a great time” during the Chicago weekend of tapings.
Ospreay himself had said that he wanted to return to IMPACT Wrestling under its TNA name.
AEW’s Lee Moriarty has stated that signing Ospreay will raise the level of competition in the company.
