AEW star El Hijo del Vikingo suffered a reported torn meniscus during a recent match in Mexico that will keep him out of action.

On February 17, 2024, Vikingo teamed with Psycho Clown and Wotan at AULL Rencor Extremo, losing to Negocio Traumado (Demonio Infernal, Fresero Jr & Trauma I).
The AAA Mega Champion sustained an injury to his knee that has been described as a torn meniscus by Dave Meltzer who wrote in the Wrestling Observer Daily Update that:

“It looks like El Hijo del Vikingo may not need surgery for a torn meniscus.
“If he doesn’t have surgery he will still be out of action for a while rehabbing.
“If he needs surgery that will lengthen the time for his return.”

Since making his AEW debut March 2023, Vikingo has made a number of appearances for AEW and ROH.
Vikingo last competed for AEW on the January 24 episode of Rampage in the AEW International Championship Number 1 Contendership Freshly Squeezed Four Way.

In that match, which also featured Kip Sabian and The Butcher, it would be Komander who would be victorious, with highlights of the four-way below this news story.
He has held the AAA Mega Championship since December 2021.
