Former AEW World Champion MJF has commented on the possibility of him leaving AEW for WWE prior to his return to the company.

MJF made a surprise AEW return at Double or Nothing, appearing for the first time since losing his AEW World Championship at the December 30 Worlds End pay-per-view.
After attacking Adam Cole, MJF cut a passionate promo where he revealed that he’s “not f**king leaving” AEW, revealing that he has the company’s logo tattooed on his leg.

Ahead of MJF signing a contract extension with AEW, there had been speculation about the popular star leaving AEW for another company like WWE, following MJF’s previous “bidding war of 2024” hype.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, MJF confirmed that there was a “very real possibility” of him making the jump to WWE.

He said:
“Of course there was. Am I going to get into the weeds? No. At this point in time, this move made the most sense for me.
“I’m making a ton of f**king money. As far as when the contract ends, that’s nobody’s business but my own.”
