There has been an update on former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet joining AEW following his departure from WWE.
Ricochet’s contract with WWE expired on July 1, with him being removed from the company’s roster page just hours before his deal expired at Midnight.
Ricochet gave his notice to WWE that he wouldn’t be re-signing following the expiration of his deal last month, with him being written off television by an attack from Bron Breakker on Raw
Following his departure from the company, many within WWE and AEW expect Ricochet to join the company, and an interesting update on his status came from last night’s Dynamite show.
Per Fightful Select, Ricochet’s contract was up on July 1, and he was contractually unable to appear on the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show.
However, Ricochet is expected to join the company soon, with his agent being present backstage at last night’s Beach Break Dynamite show, with him being said to be leading the subsequent talks between the two sides.
All reports have indicated that Ricochet’s fiancée Samantha Irvin is expected to stay with WWE.
