A new masked wrestler was recently teased on AEW Collision with the man behind the mask being reportedly AAA’s Aramis.
As recently reported, the June 6 episode of AEW Collision saw a short vignette play featuring the command ‘c:|> holo.grm’, then a man running into a portal before we got a glimpse of the masked wrestler and the message ‘loading soon’ appearing on a computer screen, as can be seen below this news story.
It was also reported that the wrestler who is ‘loading soon’ would be AAA star Aramis who will be sporting a new name and persona in AEW.
The character will have a ‘hacker type gimmick’ according to the report with PW Insider revealing that Tony Khan has devised the character.
Khan is described as ‘personally excited’ about putting together the new character who will, according to the report, be a babyface.
At the time of writing, there is no news as to when the new character will make their in-ring debut or how many vignettes have been visualised before his arrival.
On a recent episode of the Battleground Podcast, Khan confirmed that he isn’t the man behind the mask in the vignettes but did say:
“I think it’s gonna be great. It’s somebody I’m excited for but it’s, you know, not necessarily teasing the biggest free agent signing or anything like that.
“It’s a wrestler we’re really excited about and it’s cool to use vignettes to get people excited about introducing somebody to AEW. It got people talking on Collision and we’ll have more of that and it’s really fun.”
Aramis has featured in MLW shows as well as appearances across the Mexican wrestling scene, though primarily works for AAA.
