Following his last appearance at the Revolution PPV, a new report has revealed an update on Ric Flair’s AEW status.
In October 2023, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made his debut with All Elite Wrestling as a special gift to Sting on the road to his retirement.
At AEW Revolution 2024, Sting and Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships in Sting’s final match. Ric Flair appeared in his former rival’s corner during the bout.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that the recent absence of the “Woo! Energy” graphics during AEW shows was an indication that the Flair-themed drink was now over.
Fightful Select provided an update, noting that Ric Flair isn’t factored into any AEW creative plans for the time being. The report notes that Flair has not been brought up by the company in quite some time.
Flair appeared several times en route to Sting’s retirement in March, including taking a superkick from Matthew and Nicholas Jackson at Revolution.
In addition, the partnership between AEW and Woo! Energy has effectively finished. The sponsorship pretty much paid for Flair’s appearances with the company.
JJA Sport Studio will provide any further updates on Ric Flair’s AEW status when they become available.
