A former WWE name has revealed that he is still working “a couple times a month” in AEW despite not appearing on camera.

While his role in WWE was as a ring announcer in front of the cameras, Tony Chimel has shared that he still has an ongoing role in AEW, having alluded to helping out at shows around a year ago.
Speaking to the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, former WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel revealed that he has two jobs on the go, one of which is with AEW.
However, on a more day-to-day basis, his “main job” is working at Trader Joe’s.

Chimel said:
“My main job now is I work at Trader Joe’s grocery store… I love that place and I love working there.
“I also work for AEW a couple times per month. I love working there as well. That still keeps me a little bit on the wrestling scene and a little bit on the road and stuff like that.
“I don’t travel the way I used to which I’m very happy about because I don’t want to. I love both gigs now that I’m doing.

Chimel did appear as an ‘MC’ for AEW affiliate ROH in 2023, but wasn’t on ring announcing duties.
