AEW President Tony Khan has addressed a recent trademark filing made by the company, following speculation about what the trademark could be used for.

On Friday (September 6), All Elite Wrestling filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office for ‘AEW: Shockwave’.
There has been a lot of speculation about AEW’s plans for the term ‘Shockwave’, with there being rumors that this could be the name for a new wrestling show.
Tony Khan was asked about this trademark filing during the AEW All Out post-show media scrum.

Teasing that AEW will continue to send shockwaves through the pro-wrestling world, Khan said:
“It would be safe to say that AEW is set to create a shockwave throughout all of professional wrestling. I think people are going to be talking about what they saw at AEW All Out, which was a huge business success for us, did really really well at the NOW Arena, big sell out show, and also really well on pay-per-view.
“I think it bodes well and creates anticipation for Dynamite. We’ll continue to send that shockwave through the world of professional wrestling here at AEW.”

Two major AEW stars are reportedly expected to be “gone for a while” following All Out, which you can read more about right here.
