An update has emerged on Shane McMahon’s potential AEW debut after being spotted with several AEW stars.
There has been a lot of speculation about Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW in recent months, especially following McMahon being photographed in a meeting with Tony Khan in July.
In addition to Tony Khan being spotted with McMahon, Mercedes Mone has confirmed she recently spoke with the former WWE name.
AEW EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of the Young Bucks also recently added fuel to the fire, sharing a photo with Shane McMahon amid rampant speculation.
Per Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, Shane McMahon only ran into Mercedes Mone and the Young Bucks at airports by chance.
It was clarified that his meeting with Tony Khan was a planned one, on the other hand.
The report also noted that McMahon wasn’t spotted backstage at Grand Slam, and hasn’t been backstage at any AEW shows to Sapp’s knowledge.
AEW is currently preparing for its WrestleDream pay-per-view, which will air from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington on October 12.
