Here’s what happened when former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm challenged for another promotion’s championship during her AEW absence.
Toni Storm hasn’t wrestled for AEW since losing the Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at the August 25 All In London pay-per-view.
Storm recently returned to the ring in Japan, ahead of her announced IWGP Women’s Championship match.
This title match has now taken place, with Storm challenging for Mayu Iwatani’s IWGP Women’s Title at the October 5 STARDOM show.
Following a back and forth encounter, Mayu Iwatani picked up the victory, pinning Storm following a reverse poisonrana.
The duo embraced following the bout.

Prior to this title match, Storm wrestled for the first time in over a month at STARDOM’s September 28 show, teaming with Mina Shirakawa to face off against Mayu Iwatani and AZM.
Following the bout, Storm had an interesting reaction to Shirakawa mentioning Mariah May’s name.
