The United States has suffered two hurricanes in as many weeks, with Hurricane Milton impacting an AEW crossover match.

It has been reported that “at least fifteen people” have died as Hurricane Milton left devastation across Florida.
This came in the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, with TNA Wrestling revealing donation plans following their cancelled shows.
Tony Khan’s support of relief efforts due to Hurricane Helene has also been revealed by AEW’s Adam Copeland and Dax Harwood.

With Hurricane Milton now unleashing chaos in the Florida region, plans for an AEW crossover match featuring Toni Storm have been postponed.
Storm’s flight to Mexico to face La Catalina in CMLL has been cancelled, along with many other internal and external flights.

CMLL has revealed the postponement of the match on their official Twitter account in a (translated) statement that reads:
“We want to inform you that due to the severe damage caused by Hurricane Milton, multiple flights inside and outside the United States have been canceled, including the flight scheduled for AEW superstar Toni Storm, who was scheduled to arrive in Mexico to face an exciting hand-to-hand match against La Catalina.
“Despite this situation, we want to assure you that the match between Toni Storm and La Catalina will not be canceled, but rather postponed to a future date that will be announced in the coming days. We are working hard with all parties involved to coordinate a new date that allows our fans to enjoy this long-awaited match.
“We regret any inconvenience this rescheduling may cause and appreciate your understanding and continued support. We will keep our beloved fans informed through our official channels about any additional development.”

Earlier this month, Storm returned to Stardom in Japan and would face Mayu Iwatani for her IWGP Women’s Championship.
Storm hasn’t been seen in an AEW ring since All In on August 25 in London, England where she lost the AEW Women’s Championship to Mariah May.
The now-former AEW Women’s Champion shared her reaction to the mention of May’s name by Mina Shirakawa after the Japanese star noted the three were friends.
The AEW Women’s Champion faces Willow Nightingale at AEW WrestleDream on October 12, 2024.
