More details have emerged on a new character set to debut in AEW, including who is behind it and how long it’s been planned.
On AEW Collision the past few, mysterious vignettes have aired for a new character coming to the show named ‘Hologram’.
The identity of the man playing the character was left to fan speculation for a week, with names such as Sammy Guevara and Ricochet being named as potential men behind the mask.
Bodyslam.net reported last week that the character would be played by former AAA star Aramis, with the character being ‘personally devised’ by Tony Khan himself.
In an update from Fightful Select, not only were Ricochet or Guevara not planned for the role, Fightful notes that the character has been one that has been mentioned internally for quite some time, with one talent noting that they had even heard about it last year.
AEW filed the trademark for the name last year.
As far as the character itself, little is known about it outside of the word that it would be ‘unique’ to AEW, with one person calling it ‘technologically ambitious’.
Aramis has worked numerous times for GCW since 2021, as well as working for AAA for several years prior to finishing up earlier this year.
