All Elite Wrestling presented the newest episode of AEW Dynamite on April 5.
The show featured MJF Day, a celebration of AEW World Champion MJF, and a high-stakes match where The Gunns defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR, whose AEW careers were on the line.
The results are as follows:
Ricky Starks vs. Juice Robinson
Starks made his entrance. Jay White came to the stage, and Robinson attacked Starks from behind. Robinson and White saluted each other with a “Too Sweet”, the Bullet Club’s signature taunt.
A video package recaps Adam Cole’s return to the ring.
Backstage, Chris Jericho is asked why he came out after Adam Cole’s win. Jericho says he’s happy to see that Cole is back, but he expresses his frustration with the way Cole made Garcia look like a piece of trash, and he had to put an end to the disrespect. Keith Lee shows up and says that he’s battled Cole in the past, and he noted that he respects him. Lee challenged Jericho to a match next week.
AEW World Trios Championship: House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) (c) vs. Orange Cassidy & Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor)
Cassidy and the Best Friends roll up in Sue’s minivan. Black and Beretta start the bout and go back and forth. Beretta gains the upper hand. The champions take control and isolate Cassidy, as “Freshly Squeezed” gets slammed into the corner. Cassidy rallies and dives onto Black and Matthews, but they catch up and slam him onto the apron. Beretta also gets slammed when he goes for a dive. King drills him with a stiff shot. House of Black gangs up on Beretta, but Cassidy tags in. He sends King tumbling to the outside. Black takes control with a brainbuster on Beretta. He stares down Beretta. Cassidy “kicks” Black and eats a stiff kick. Beretta drops Matthews with a piledriver.
Cassidy drills King with an Orange Punch. Beretta gets a two count with an Orange Punch. Taylor gets a two count with a roll-up. Matthews stomps Taylor for the win.

In a vignette, Christian Cage stands by a room, and Luchasaurus comes out.
AEW Women’s World Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) (with Britt Baker) vs. Riho
Hayter goes for an early Hayter-ade, but Riho counters. Riho and Hayter go back and forth early on. Riho dives onto Hayter at ringside. Hayter and Riho battle on the apron, and Hayter wins the exchange. Riho and Hayer keep battling. Hayter takes control and grounds Riho. A Tiger Feint Kick rocks Hayter, and Riho gets a two count off the top rope. Riho gets a two count with a suplex. Hayter gets a two count of her own with a lariat. Riho counters a suplex with a DDT, and both women are down. Riho and Hayter trade blows. Riho blasts Hayter with a running knee strike. Hayter drills Riho with a boot to the head. Hayter drills Riho with a lariat for a two count.
Hayter gets the win with another lariat.
Winner and still AEW Women’s World Champion: Jamie Hayter
Renee Paquette interviews The Outcasts; Ruby Soho says they’re taking control, and one of them will win the AEW Women’s World Champion. The trio are seemingly a united front, as they agree that the priority is taking the title from Hayter.
Matt Menard comes out and calls out The Acclaimed. Caster comes out and raps his way to the ring.; he says “JAS stands for Just Acclaimed Scissoring.” Angelo Parker says it sounds like The Acclaimed want to fight together, and he got them a match together. He says everybody loves the Jericho Appreciation Acclaimed Society. He wants to scissor, but Billy Gunn stops him so he and Bowens can show him how it’s done.
A video package shows MJF getting the key to the town of Oyster Bay. MJF speaks to the media and says nobody can beat him because he’s a Long Islander.
In-Ring Segment: MJF
A band plays ahead of MJF’s entrance. MJF comes out and gets a big pop. He calls Long Island the most magical place in the world. MJF cues up the band and sings “Pennies from Heaven.” He dances and comes to the ring. The Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino starts to speak and gets booed. MJF tries to calm the crowd, and Saladino praises him. Saladino presents him with the key to Long Island. MJF insults Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry. MJF shares a story about his childhood in Long Island; he talks about having ADD and gets a chant for ADD going. He recalls how a teacher was hard on him, and he says her math was wrong, as he’s the champion now. He tells the crowd to not be like that teacher.
MJF sends a message to the Long Island kids and says they can be anything they want to be, other than him. He heads to the stage and prepares for an encore, but “Jungle Boy” attacks him. They brawl until they’re separated. Sammy Guevara comes out and looks as MJF as he heads to the ring for his match.
Sammy Guevara vs. Komander
Guevara takes the fight to Komander. The high-flying star blasts Guevara with a kick and gets a two count with a Shooting Star Press. Guevara gains the upper hand and slams Komander into the barricade. Back in the ring, Guevara grounds Komander. The fan-favorite rallies and hits a hurricanrana for a two count. Komander dives onto Guevara at ringside. Komander walks on the ropes, but Guevara catches him with a cutter. Guevara gets the win with the GTH.
Winner: Sammy Guevara
In an interview, Guevara says he just wrestled, something MJF doesn’t do. He insults MJF’s musical performance. Guevara recalls his previous match with MJF in 2021 and says he had MJF beat until Shawn Spears interfered. Guevara says MJF lied and cheated his way to the top. He brings up MJF’s history in AEW and says he sold his soul to get to where he is. Guevara says he put his heart and soul into AEW. He says he’s not using AEW to get anywhere else, and he takes a shot at MJF’s “bidding war of 2024”. Guevara vows to become the world champion.
FTW Champion: HOOK (c) vs. Ethan Page (with Matt Hardy)
Page takes a swing at HOOK and gets suplexed. He heads to the outside and slams HOOK into the steel steps. He sends the champion into the ring post. Page goes for the Twist of Fate, but HOOK hits one of his own. Page tries to hit Page with the FTW Championship, but Hardy stops him and hits Page with the title. HOOK makes Page tap out to the Redrum.

Hardy and Kassidy walk off, clearly feeling good about what transpired.

Nigel McGuinness is standing by with Tony Khan, who announces AEW All In will be held on August 27 in London, England. Adam Cole shows up and announces that the show will be held in Wembley Stadium.
Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta) def. local competitors
The BCC dominates their opponents, and Yuta gets the win with a crossface.

Moxley and Yuta keep attacking their opponents. Bryan Danielson grabs a microphone and says he loves his stablemates. He loves professional wrestling. He calls their opponents, and other people on the roster, impotent amateurs. Danielson says the four of them are the only wrestlers in the building. Hangman Page comes out and tries to fight the group. They beat him up, and Danielson calls him an amateur. He says no one loves Page, and no one is coming to help him. Danielson gets a screwdriver and says AEW needs to be fixed. He gouges Page with the screwdriver. Danielson says the four members of the BCC are the only real wrestlers in America.
AEW World Tag Team Titles vs. AEW Careers: The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) (c) vs. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
Wheeler and Colten start the bout and feel each other out. The Gunns isolate Wheeler and keep him grounded. Harwood eventually tags in and takes control. He takes the fight to The Gunns. Austin goes for the Sharpshooter, but Harwood escapes. FTR hits a Stump Piledriver. FTR blocks the 3:10 to Yuma and hits the Big Rig, but Colten pulls the referee out of the ring at the last second. Austin hits Dax with the Fameasser for a two count. Austin goes for a Pedigree, but Harwood counters and gets a two count with a backslide.
He cradles Austin for a two count. Austin hits Harwood below the belt, and the referee goes to call for the bell, but Wheeler stops him. The Gunns hit Wheeler with the 3:10 to Yuma. Harwood rallies. The referee stops the Gunns from using one title, but they get another into the ring behind his back. Harwood goes for a headbutt, and he lands on the title belt. Harwood still kicks out. Harwood spit at the Gunns, and they go for the 3:10 to Yuma. Harwood blocks it, and FTR rolls up both members of The Gunns for the win.
