This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with quick promos from The Acclaimed, Bullet Club Gold, Ricky Starks, and more, hyping up what will take place on tonight’s show.
Tony Schiavone is in the ring, and he brings out Men’s Owen Hart Cup winner Ricky Starks. Schiavone congratulates him on winning the cup but says it wasn’t without controversy due to holding the rope to pin CM Punk. The crowd chants, “you deserve it” at Starks.
Ricky Starks says he’s never agreed more with a city in his life until tonight. Starks shows off a bag he has with nothing in it, seemingly mocking Punk’s bag that he’s had on Collision in recent weeks. Starks says anyone in his shoes would have done the exact same thing he did. Starks said he got the job done by any means necessary.
Starks says don’t talk to him about right and wrong; talk to him about how stylish he is. Schiavone asks about the disrespect to Jushin Thunder Liger last week, and Starks said he meant no disrespect and called Liger a legend. Starks says he doesn’t want to be a pillar and none of the pillars of this company have won the Owen Hart Cup.
This brings out CM Punk to a mixed reaction from the New Jersey crowd, Punk says he’s not out there to rain on Starks’ parade; he said he’s not mad at all. Punk said if he was mad at anyone, he was mad at himself. Punk says he’s proud of Starks and says he can’t stand there and act like he’s never cheated in his life.
Punk buries the crowd and the New Jersey Devils. Punk says he can live with the loss, but he wants to know if Starks can live with the idea that he can’t beat him without cheating. Punk goes to leave up the ramp, and Starks stops him and makes fun of his bag. This brings Punk back to the ring, and now the crowd starts chanting for Punk.
CM Punk asks Starks if he wants a shot at what’s in the bag or if he’s just like MJF and he doesn’t want him to have it. Punk declares that he’s the real AEW World Champion. This brings out Christian Cage and TNT Champion Luchasaurus who say this promo is taking too long for Cage’s liking as he doesn’t want to spend any more time in Jersey than he has to.
Cage asks Punk what kind of man carries around a championship that he didn’t win. Punk laughs and Cage said they are leaving New Jersey and that he and Luchasaurus are the faces of TNT now and forever.
This brings out Darby Allin who says he hates the term pillar, anyone who rides or rides with AEW is a pillar of this company like his good friend CM Punk. Allin asks who the real TNT Champion is. Before they can answer, he says it doesn’t matter because at All Out he’s getting that title back.
Allin proposes a tag match, him and CM Punk against Ricky Starks and TNT Champion Luchasaurus. Cage insists that he’s the champion and Allin asks why he doesn’t wrestle instead. Tony Khan informs Schiavone on his headset that the tag match is official for later on tonight.
They show Andrade El Idolo backstage at AEW Collision earlier today and he’s told he can’t be in the building due to what he did with House of Black last week and they fear him getting involved in the Trios Title match later tonight.
Bullet Club Gold (Jay White and Juice Robinson) defeated Action Andretti and Darius Martin
After a series of double-team moves, Jay White hits The Bladerunner on Action Andretti to score the pinfall victory for his team.
All four members of Bullet Club Gold attack Martin and Andretti after the match and then pose in the ring together.
Highlights are shown from the ROH Death Before Dishonor main event between Athena and Willow Nightingale.
Miro defeated Nick Comoroto
Miro was jumped behind by Comoroto on his way to the ring. But The Redeemer was able to fight back and wins the match via submission with the Game Over.
A music video is played featuring FTR and their career so far in All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
The House of Black defeated The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to retain the AEW World Trios Titles
Malakai Black hits Billy Gunn with The End to score the pinfall victory for his team to remain champions.
Billy Gunn unties the laces on his boots and leaves them in the ring and walks past The Acclaimed on the ramp.
Tony Schiavone is back in the ring and introduces AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to a great reaction from the live crowd. Schiavone says the two out of three falls match last week was one of the best tag team matches he’s ever witnessed. He asks about their title match next week against MJF and Adam Cole.
Cash Wheeler runs down the list of real tag teams that they have unfinished business with, including The Young Bucks which was met with a very mixed reaction from the crowd. Wheeler says next week, Adam Cole shouldn’t trust MJF. Cash brings up The Pinnacle and says he knows the real MJF.
Wheeler warns Cole not to trust MJF next week. Dax Harwood tells a story of when he was younger and had to get a job and every day after school a group of kids came in and made fun of him because he had to get a job. Harwood said if he ever got the opportunity he was going to punch those kids in the face.
Dax Harwood says Cole and MJF are treating this AEW World Tag Team Title match like a joke. He makes fun of the comedy skits and the dance break from Dynamite. Harwood says for the last ten years he’s done everything he could to make FTR the greatest tag team in professional wrestling.
Harwood says next week there won’t be any dance breaks or comedy because he’s gonna take out on them what he should have given those kids when he was 15 years old, an ass whipping.
A recap package is played from AEW Dynamite showcasing the Blood & Guts match from earlier this week The Blackpool Combat Club and The Golden Elite.
Taya Valkyrie defeated Skye Blue
Taya Valkyrie hit a Curb Stomp on Skye Blue to get the pinfall victory.
Taya Valkyrie gets the microphone afterward and says that things haven’t been going her way lately but tonight she got the victory over Skye Blue. Valkyrie says Britt Baker also got a recent victory over an “extra” who’s not on their level. Valkyrie challenges Baker to a match this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.
A highlight package plays for AR Fox as he will challenge Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite for the International Championship this Wednesday.
