AEW’s next media rights deal is reportedly a done deal, with the show set to receive an increase and extension from Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as potentially expanding onto other networks.

With an increase potentially coming, there are a number of current names on the wrestling market who could make the move over to AEW in the coming months.
Here are eight potential new AEW signings.

8) Donovan Dijak
Dijak left WWE back in June, when he revealed that WWE never offered him a contract extension offer following his move to the main roster.
Dijak was called up to the Raw roster in the 2024 WWE Draft, making no appearances on the show before his contract expired back in June.
Just a day after he was officially a free agent, Dijak was backstage at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, but has yet to make an appearance or be signed by AEW.
His talents deserve to be showcased on the big stage, so he’d definitely be a big get for the company.

7) Gisele Shaw
TNA Knockout Gisele Shaw has now finished up with the company as of its most recent set of TV tapings.
Shaw requested and was granted her release from the company, leading to a lot of speculation on where she may land in the future.
She recently shared a video of her present at AEW All In, which many took as a tease that she may land in the company after her departure from TNA.
AEW’s women’s division is arguably the hottest it’s ever been right now, and adding more names can only help establish it further.

6) Mustafa Ali
Mustafa Ali from announcement X video
When Mustafa Ali was released from WWE in September of last year, he was lined up for a shot at the NXT North American Championship, with many believing he was in line to capture the title.
Since his departure, Ali has primarily worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling and TNA Wrestling, and with him leaving TNA recently, that led to a lot of speculation about his next move.
Ali is an incredible talent who deserves the most eyes he can get on his work, so him bringing his new storyline and character to AEW television would benefit both he and the company.
Hopefully he’d still keep up his work on the indies if he signed with AEW, he’s doing good stuff there right now.

5) Michael Oku & Amira
AEW’s recent trip to the United Kingdom has come to an end, and we’ve not really heard much more on the status of Michael Oku and Amira.
It was reported that both were expected to join AEW around the time of All In, with speculation that Oku would compete in the Casino Gauntlet match, which never ended up happening.
It really feels like if they were to debut in the company, that would be the perfect time to do so, with Oku even working a match prior to the episode of AEW Dynamite in Cardiff.
It’s likely the pair will still join AEW, but the hype it’ll generate will probably be a lot lower than it would have been in the UK.

4) Josh Alexander
TNA star Josh Alexander
Former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander’s contract with TNA was extended for a year back in February, with his contract now set to expire in February 2025.
Alexander recently noted that he isn’t necessarily looking to leave TNA at the end of his contract, but believes he would be open to exploring the open market.
Alexander’s style and character would fit into AEW like a glove, with potential matches against the likes of Bryan Danielson, Roderick Strong and Zack Sabre Jr opening up for the technical wizard.
He’ll be a name to watch out for in early 2025.'

3) Beth Phoenix
WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix recently departed the company, when her deal with WWE expired.
Beth could already be heard on AEW television, with her providing the voiceover at the beginning of husband Adam Copeland’s theme song upon his arrival in the company.
With Copeland now working for AEW, fans immediately speculated that Beth could also end up joining the company now she’s a free agent.
Whether it be as a wrestler, commentator or simply an agent, Beth would add a lot to the company.

2) Mina Shirakawa
STARDOM’s Mina Shirakawa has been the main beneficiary of the relationship between AEW and STARDOM, with her making multiple appearances, including a pay-per-view Women’s World Championship match at Forbidden Door.
Even though Mina has only made sporadic appearances on television since, she has remained a focal point of the storylines on the show, with Mariah May recently calling her out to return to the company.
We haven’t heard any update on Mina’s contract situation with STARDOM, but with how popular she has become with the AEW faithful in such a short time, they’d surely be interested in signing her full-time when she becomes available.
Mina has been working in the United States a lot more recently, potentially setting up her future.

1) The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP)
The most obvious names on this list, it only seems like a matter of time before we see the new ‘Hurt Syndicate’ show up on AEW television.
Bobby Lashley and MVP both left WWE last month, their contracts expiring and no agreement being reached for a renewal, making them officially free agents.
Add in Shelton Benjamin, who was released from WWE last September, and 3/4 of the Hurt Business are now free agents, with MVP trademarking the Hurt Syndicate name shortly after their departure.
The group have reportedly been in discussions with AEW, so it feels like a matter of when they show up at this point.
