An update has emerged on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ injury status ahead of WrestleMania 40.
Rollins hasn’t wrestled since defending his gold against Jinder Mahal on the January 15 edition of Raw.
The champion confirmed on the following week’s episode that he had a ‘grade 2 tear of his MCL, a partially torn medial meniscus’, but promised to work hard on rehabilitation to hopefully be able to compete at WrestleMania 40.
Rollins appeared alongside Cody Rhodes at Saturday’s Elimination Chamber premium live event during a Grayson Waller Effect talk show segment.
During this segment, Rollins announced that he’s “just days away from being cleared” and noted that he will be in action at WrestleMania in April.
Rollins was involved in the physicality later on in the segment, dropping Theory with a Stomp.
He also shook hands with Cody Rhodes, amid their recent partnership.
While an Elimination Chamber match did take place to determine Rollins’ next challenger, The Visionary has also promised to stand by Cody Rhodes, who issued a challenge for a one-on-one match against The Rock.
It has now been confirmed that Drew McIntyre will challenge for Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 40, with McIntyre winning the men’s Elimination Chamber match.
