A major WWE star has reportedly re-signed with the company, ahead of competing in a major match at an upcoming premium live event.

Per Fightful Select, sources within WWE have told them that Randy Orton has re-signed with WWE.
The report stated that the word internally is that Orton has signed a new five-year contract which would have him with WWE until late 2029.
Orton signed his previous WWE deal in 2019, which would’ve kept him with the company until late this year.

While Orton missed 18 months due to his back injury from May 2022 to November 2023. When a WWE higher-up was asked why WWE would agree to a new deal instead of extending his previous deal because of injury time, the higher-up reportedly said, per Fightful:
“Not confirming that the did sign a new deal, but the guaranteed money associated with contracts now is a drastic shift from what it was in 2019.
“There have been changes to our live event schedule, touring, international dates, media obligations, merchandise and social media that would be much more fair to just reach a new deal in many situations.”

Fightful noted that while they didn’t get direct confirmation from WWE and Randy Orton about a new deal, the word internally is that he has signed a new contract.
Randy Orton will challenge for GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship at the August 31 Bash In Berlin premium live event.
