Former NXT Champion Trick Williams has labelled former multi-time WWE World Champion CM Punk a “soon to be Hall of Famer.”

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk has been keen on spending a lot of time at the Performance Center to help the stars of the NXT brand.
One such star that has developed a relationship with Punk is former NXT Champion Trick Williams.
However, Punk will have to call it right down the middle when he is the special guest referee for Trick’s NXT Championship bout against Ethan Page on the CW launch episode of WWE NXT on October 1.

Speaking to Pix11 News about NXT’s debut on The CW Network in Chicago, Trick Williams was asked about CM Punk being the special guest referee for the match. He answered:
“Well, CM Punk, he’s a legendary WWE soon to be Hall of Famer, I’m sure, and he’s from Chicago.”
“So with us premiering in Chicago, man, it’s gonna be a huge deal. I already talked to CM Punk here and he told me he’s gonna call it right down the middle.”
“He’s gonna call it like it is. So that’s a big deal for us. I mean, we gotta keep Ethan Page straight. He likes to cheat a lot.”

Punk and Williams had a face-to-face backstage confrontation to discuss the NXT Championship match on the September 24 episode.
Also announced for this Tuesday’s show, Roxanne Perez will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia and Wes Lee will face Zachary Wentz in a Street Fight.
