A new report has revealed how CM Punk’s Royal Rumble 2024 injury changed the January 29 edition of WWE Raw.

At WWE Royal Rumble 2024, Cody Rhodes won the Men’s Royal Rumble match by last eliminating CM Punk. During the course of the bout, Punk suffered a torn triceps injury that will cause him to miss WrestleMania 40.
A popular conspiracy theory among fans is the idea that CM Punk was actually supposed to win the WWE Royal Rumble, knew he sustained an injury and an audible was called.
However, this isn’t true and Cody Rhodes was always supposed to win the match. Despite no changes being made to the Rumble event, there was changes made to the January 29 episode of WWE Raw.

Fightful Select provided an update, noting that the creative for Monday’s Raw adjusted from what was originally planned on Saturday night as of WWE Royal Rumble.
The report notes that this is directly tied to CM Punk’s injury and the Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins promo segment was added as of a result of the injury.

In the promo, Rollins proposed Rhodes challenge him for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 instead of Roman Reigns. Meanwhile, CM Punk cut an emotional promo about his injury and missing WrestleMania 40 until Drew McIntyre interrupted to mock the injury and attack Punk.
JJA Sport Studio will provide any further updates on CM Punk’s Royal Rumble injury and creative changes due to it when they become available.
