On tonight’s WWE Raw, Seth Rollins revealed a working alliance with Cody Rhodes against The Rock and Roman Reigns ahead of WrestleMania 40.

After last week’s end to the WWE WrestleMania 40 kickoff event where The Rock slapped Cody Rhodes in the face, Rhodes made his first television appearance on tonight’s February 12 Raw.
In an in-ring promo segment Rhodes oscillated from humor (after playing The Rock’s appearance on the Pat McAfee show, questioning Rock’s modern promo skills) to seriousness as he discussed his road to WrestleMania.
However, this summoned Seth Rollins who tried to deliver some truth to Rhodes regarding having challenged one of the most powerful men in all of Hollywood in The Rock.
Rollins wasn’t there however to chastise Cody for standing up the The Rock and Roman Reigns, rather extend his hand as a means of protection.

Rollins was of course present on stage for Rhodes’ confrontation with Rock and Reigns, and ended up on Rhodes’ side of the argument.
The official WrestleMania “teaser trailer” that WWE released yesterday also featured a two-on-two face-off between the two pairs.
Discussing his guilt for having partially created the monster that is Roman Reigns, Rollins reminded fans of their shared past as friends turned foes.

Cementing an alliance between the pair, Seth Rollins made Cody Rhodes smile by telling him that he was uniquely suited to be a ‘shield’.
You can see more from the exchange in the video below.
The Rock and Roman Reigns are expected to respond on SmackDown this coming Friday.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE Raw, it was confirmed that next week on the show Jey Uso will get an Intercontinental Championship match against GUNTHER next week.
