Dolph Ziggler WWE contract details before being released revealed

Dolph Ziggler was one of the WWE stars who was released on September 21 having been with the company for almost 20 years.

Some details on Ziggler’s contract situation and relationship with WWE have now emerged.
Fightful Select reports they’d been told that Ziggler’s contract was originally “set to extend into next Summer” prior to his release.
In another interesting note, it was mentioned that Ziggler had been “ready to leave WWE years ago, but got talked into staying with the company”.
The Rock reacted to the releases on Twitter, paying tribute to Ziggler’s time in the company in particular.

Big E would also comment on Ziggler’s release on Twitter, saying he had “learned so many lessons about this craft by watching and listening” when he was first brought up to the main roster and put with Ziggler.
John Cena also paid tribute to Ziggler pointing out he the released star had “one thousand five hundred and fifty four matches” in WWE, along with a message of “#Respect”.
Ziggler signed with WWE in October 2004 and held multiple championships across brands, including NXT.

He was a six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, two-time World Heavyweight Champion and two-time WWE United States Champion. along with holding the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championship and the World Tag Team Championship.
His brother, Ryan Nemeth, recently teased the idea of Ziggler making a jump to AEW.
Providing Ziggler is subject to the usual WWE main roster non-compete period of 90 days, he should be available for bookings from December 20, 2023.
