WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest has commented on a scary spot at Clash at the Castle, addressing the injury scare.

Priest put his gold on the line against Drew McIntyre at the June 15 event. One spot in the match almost ended in disaster, with Priest attempting a middle rope springboard move to the ringside area, but ended up tying his ankle up in the ropes.
The champion was ultimately able to finish the match, although he was limping following this spot.
During the post-show press conference, Damian Priest noted that he hadn’t been checked over by a doctor, but believed he was fine.

Priest noted:
“It feels like trash right now. I didn’t even go to medical yet so I could do this and talk to you guys and answer your questions, so you’re all welcome. Docs will check it out, but I ain’t going anywhere.
“I was able to beat Drew McIntyre on one foot so I’m pretty sure I’m all good to go.”

Dave Meltzer provided a further update on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that it is believed that the injury might not be as bad as was first feared.
Noting that this is all preliminary and not conclusive, Meltzer said:
“I actually heard from them and the preliminary news wasn’t bad, they’re actually saying it’s like a miracle. It wasn’t as bad as they feared, but nothing is conclusive.”

We will continue to provide updates on Damian Priest as they become available.
