There has been an update on The Rock’s WWE future following his upcoming in-ring return at WrestleMania 40.

The Rock is set to compete in his first official WWE match in 11 years at WrestleMania 40 this Saturday, when he teams with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
The Rock’s return came back in January at WWE Day 1, with Rock joining the TKO board.
Following WrestleMania, Rock is set to begin filming on his next movie role, with him no longer set to be a regular part of WWE programming for a while.
Speaking to ESPN ahead of WrestleMania, The Rock and Brian Gewirtz gave an update on his future with the company following WrestleMania, where he claimed he would ‘always be a part of this’.

He said:
“I’m not off the board after WrestleMania. I’m still on the board, and I will always be a part of this. And we are in it now. This is our thing and will forever be our thing.”

Gewirtz noted that Rock being around doesn’t mean he’ll likely be a regular fixture of WWE Raw going forward, but there will always be a Rock presence on the show.
He added:
“But I do think there’s gonna be a Rock presence in WWE going forward until whenever he doesn’t want to. I could definitely say that this isn’t [over a] day after WrestleMania and I’m gonna go off into the sunset now.”
