AEW Collision Results – January 20, 2024
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with in-ring action between Jon Moxley and Shane Strickland.
Jon Moxley defeated Shane Taylor (w/ Lee Moriarty)
Jon Moxley locks Shane Taylor in the Bulldog Choke to win the match via knockout.
Moxley gets on the microphone after the match and says he’s pissed off beyond belief. Mox says he’s hungry beyond belief, and he’s not taking any crap from anyone or anything in 2024. Mox says anyone or any teammate in the company better keep the hell up.
A video package plays from AEW Dynamite, recapping the main event between Samoa Joe and HOOK.
“The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland comes out for his weekly open challenge. It’s answered by Dante Martin.
Adam Copeland defeated Dante Martin
Adam Copeland locks Dante Martin in the Grindhouse to win the match via submission.
Tony Schiavone interviews Adam Copeland after the match. Adam Copeland says these matches are getting harder and harder every week and gives props to Dante Martin. Copeland says all the young talent is stepping up, but none of the veterans are trying to test him. Copeland says he’s gonna keep working every week like Christian Cage promised he was going to do when he came to the company.
Adam Copeland says he will get to Christian Cage, and he will become TNT Champion once again and defend the title every week like it’s supposed to be defended.
Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli are backstage. Danielson says he was feeling good until he had to think about his loss to Eddie Kingston in the Continental Classic. Danielson says he thinks that’s the worst loss of his career. Claudio Castagnoli says he wants to stop talking about Eddie Kingston. Castagnoli says Ortiz is a casualty tonight by being his friend.
Top Flight and Action Andretti are backstage. Private Party arrives and reminds Top Flight that they beat them on AEW Dynamite. Action Andretti accuses Private Party of cheating. Cassidy claims he lost his balance. Darius Martin asks for a rematch and Private Party accepts.
Thunder Rosa defeated Queen Aminata
Thunder Rosa hits Queen Aminata with the Tijuana Bomb to score the pinfall victory.
Eddie Kingston and Ortiz are backstage. Ortiz says it’s been a while since they tagged because families fight but they eventually make up and get back together. Kingston says he has no interest in cutting a promo tonight and leaves. Ortiz says he’ll translate for Kingston and says he does his best talking in the ring.
Bullet Club Gold come out to the ring. Jay White says there is a different vibe when the Bang Bang Gang is back on Saturday nights. White says something missing though, and they bring out Rock Card Juice Board from under the ring.
The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass come out, and Billy Gunn says they are out there to congratulate Bullet Club Gold on winning the Ring of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Titles. Gunn says the six of them together can do so much more. Max Caster again proposes the idea of being a supergroup.
Anthony Bowens says they’ve waited long enough and they want Bullet Club Gold’s answer tonight. Jay White and The Gunns huddle up to discuss it, and they accept. The Bang Bang Scissor Gang is now official.
Daniel Garcia (w/ FTR) defeated Buddy Matthews (w/ Malakai Black and Brody King)
Daniel Garcia scores a flash rollup pin on Buddy Matthews to win the match.
All six men start brawling after the match. A lot of wrestlers from the locker room run in to try and break things up. There’s nothing but chaos in the ring.
AEW Collision comes back from a commercial break, and FTR and Daniel Garcia are backstage. Dax Harwood says this rivalry has gone on too long and it needs to end next week. Harwood challenges House of Black to a six-man tag elimination style cage match for next week’s show.
Roderick Strong (w/ Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) defeated Matt Sydal
Roderick Strong hits Matt Sydal with End of Heartache to secure the pinfall victory.
Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli defeated Eddie Kingston and Ortiz
Bryan Danielson hits Ortiz with the Busaiku knee to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Danielson tells Kingston he’s not holding the Triple Crown for long and spits on him as AEW Collision goes off the air.
