WWE will deliver a star-studded show with the August 9 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Roman Reigns is set to appear on Friday night. Plus, Andrade, Jade Cargill, and other stars will compete.

In-Ring Segment: Cody Rhodes
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes comes to the ring. He asks the fans what they want to talk about. Rhodes says he doesn’t want to delve into the past; instead, he looks to the future. He highlights the importance of the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rhodes says he has been thinking about who he wants to defend the title against at WWE Bash in Berlin. Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline interrupt. Sikoa says he would have been champion, and he tells Rhodes to give him a rematch.
Rhodes responds by saying that Sikoa could not get the job done. He says that Sikoa set Roman Reigns on a warpath. Rhodes says he beat Sikoa, so he was “delusional” if he had any claim to a rematch. The Bloodline approaches the ring, and Kevin Owens runs in for the save. Sikoa makes it clear that he’s not done with Rhodes, and Cody says he’ll be waiting for him.
Rhodes tells Owens that he wants to talk to him. He says that he wants to face Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin. Owens says he doesn’t deserve a title match, as they need to be earned, and he hasn’t done that. Rhodes says that he has not forgotten the sacrifices that Owens has made for him.
He says that he will talk to Nick Aldis and explain why Owens should face him at WWE Bash in Berlin. Cody predicts that Aldis will agree with him

WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match: The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) (with B-Fab) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)
Ahead of the match, B-Fab hypes up The Street Profits. The Street Profits set their sights on The Bloodline and the gold. Dawkins and Theory start the bout. Theory and Waller double-team Dawkins early on. Waller throws Ford into the barricade. Dawkins rallies, but Theory sends him into the ring post. Waller and Theory are in control, and Waller drops Dawkins with a clothesline. Ford dives onto them at ringside.
After a commercial, Theory has the upper hand again. Dawkins fires up and tags Ford, who clears house with a flurry of offense. He gets a two-count with a standing moonsault. Waller drives him into the corner. They double-team Ford, and Theory gets a two-count. Dawkins pounces Waller at ringside. Ford kicks Theory. Dawkins tags back in, and the Street Profits hit a double-team Blockbuster for the win,
Winners: The Street Profits

Backstage, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are speaking with Nick Aldis. Owens says he doesn’t deserve the title match. Aldis says he was waiting to discuss a title match with Roman Reigns. Owens expresses his frustration and notes that there were plenty of people who deserved a title shot more. Aldis confirmed that Rhodes would face Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin.

Backstage, Tiffany Stratton is celebrating Nia Jax’s championship for next week. Pretty Deadly approaches Stratton and wonders if she’ll plan their party when they win the titles. They also consider casting Stratton in Pretty Deadly: The Musical.” Chelsea Green and Piper Niven interrupt Stratton, and Chelsea insults Stratton. Niven says that Nia Jax doesn’t even like pink. Green says Stratton is clearly looking to cash in on Jax. Stratton says Green is delusional and arrogant.

Jade Cargill (with Bianca Belair) vs. Alba Fyre (with Isla Dawn)
Fyre takes the fight to Cargill, but Cargill overpowers her. Fyre gets a two-count with a tornado DDT. She locks in a bodyscissors. Belair stops Dawn from getting involved. Cargill slams Fyre and rocks her with a kick. Cargill scores the win with Jaded.
Winner: Jade Cargill
Blair Davenport attacks Cargill from behind. Davenport, Fyre, and Dawn gang up on Belair and Cargill, but Naomi makes the save. Cargill, Belair, and Naomi fight them off.

In-Ring Segment: LA Knight
WWE United States Champion LA Knight comes to the ring to celebrate his win at WWE SummerSlam. He comments on his victory and says Logan Paul deserved to get stomped out. Knight says that he told everyone that he would be a champion, and he had finally arrived.
He says that the title makes him a marked man, but he’s used to that being the case. Knight says he can’t stop. Santos Escobar, along with Legado del Fantasma, interrupts. He says, “You suck, sir.”
Escobar says he doesn’t buy Knight as a champion. He tells Knight that all of this would be nothing but an opening act to his reign. Escobar says he is the one who deserves to be the champion. Knight fires back by saying that Escobar deserved to have the brakes beaten off of him again, and he’d be happy to do it. He tells Escobar that he would not let him take the title.

#1 Contender’s Match for WWE United States Championship: Andrade vs. Santos Escobar (with Elektra Lopez, Angel and Berto)
Andrade gains the upper hand early on. He dives onto Escobar at ringside. Angel and Berto attack him, and Escobar drills Andrade with a knee to the face. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews come down and brawl with Angel and Berto to even the odds. Escobar drives Andrade back-first into the ring post and continues to control the action. He drops Escobar with a backbreaker.
Andrade rallies. He hits a sunset flip powerbomb. He hits a dragon screw and a forearm. Escobar rolls out of the ring, and Andrade dives onto him. Andrade keeps rolling, and he hits Escobar with three suplexes in a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Escobar takes control again. Andrade catches Escobar with a dropkick and gets a two-count with a moonsault. Andrade hits a back elbow for a two-count. Carmelo Hayes runs in and interferes. Escobar rolls up Andrade for the win.
Winner: Santos Escobar

WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match: #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson)
The two teams brawl early on. #DIY take control and send Pretty Deadly to ringside. Pretty Deadly counter dive attempts with uppercuts. They take too long taunting, and DIY dive onto them at ringside. Pretty Deadly isolates Gargano. Gargano rallies and tags Ciampa, who clears house with a flurry of offense. #DIY double-team Prince with a power-bomb for a two-count. Prince rolls up Ciampa for a two-count. Pretty Deadly double-teams Ciampa with a bulldog.
Gargano superkicks Prince. Ciampa drills Wilson with some strikes. Pretty Deadly takes control again. Gargano breaks up a double-team, and #DIY hits the Shatter Machine and Meet in the Middle for the win.
Winners: #DIY

Backstage, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa tell Solo Sikoa that Roman Reigns isn’t there. Sikoa says he’ll be there.

In-Ring Segment: The Bloodline
Solo Sikoa tells the crowd to acknowledge him. He says he’s the Tribal Chief now, and if Roman Reigns wants his tribal necklace back, he can come and get it. Reigns comes out. Reigns comes down and takes the fight to Tama Tonga. He fights off Tonga Loa. Reigns hits Loa with some stairs and hits Tama with them as well.
Reigns gets in the ring and confronts Sikoa. He takes the fight to Sikoa, and they brawl. Reigns hits Sikoa with a Superman Punch. Tonga and Loa pull Sikoa out of the ring. Reigns picks up his tribal necklace. Loa and Tonga attack Reigns. Reigns fights them off and drops Loa with a Spear. Sikoa walks away with the tribal necklace. He hits Tonga with a Spear through the barricade. Reigns gets a chair and hits Loa repeatedly.
Sikoa says he’s the man now, and Reigns stares him down. Reigns stands tall as the show comes to an end.
