John Cena made his return to WWE on the September 1 episode of SmackDown amid the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike.

During his return segment, Cena was confronted by Jimmy Uso, with Cena telling Jimmy that the wrong Uso quit, before laying him out with an Attitude Adjustment.
On last week’s show, Cena appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect, where he was confronted by Jimmy and Solo Sikoa, before AJ Styles made the save for him.

In an update from PWInsider, Cena is set to wrestle on tonight’s show, where he will team with AJ Styles to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.
This will be Cena’s first televised match for the company since WrestleMania 39, where he lost to Austin Theory.

Also set for tonight’s show is a WWE Women’s Championship match between IYO SKY and Asuka, as well as Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar teaming to face Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.
Cena is not the only WWE icon to make a return amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson making a surprise appearance on last week’s show.
Cena is also set to appear at the upcoming Fastlane premium live event next month.
