WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has addressed a main roster call-up which was announced during the first night of the WWE Draft.

The WWE roster’s shake-up began on Friday’s (April 26) edition of SmackDown, with this year’s draft commencing.
In a move which surprised many, Carmelo Hayes was a first round draft pick for SmackDown. The former NXT Champion was selected ahead of the likes of Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and the Bloodline.
Hayes then went on to face off against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes during his first match as an official WWE star.
Triple H has now taken to Twitter to comment on Carmelo Hayes’ main roster call-up.

Praising the former NXT Champion, Triple H wrote:

Hayes had a successful run in NXT, during which he held multiple championships. After winning the 2021 Breakout Tournament, he held the North American Title twice, which he notably unified with the Cruiserweight Title in 2022.
He then went on to win the NXT Championship in 2023, which he held for 182 days.
Carmelo Hayes’ last NXT match saw him lose to his former friend Trick Williams in a steel cage match on the April 16 edition of NXT.
Trick Williams has now reacted to Hayes’ main roster call-up, which you can read more about right here.
