It has been announced that a WWE star is set to miss 8-12 months of action; just days ahead of a schedule title opportunity at an upcoming Premium Live Event.

At NXT Deadline this Saturday (December 9) Wes Lee was set to attempt to reclaim his NXT North American Championship against Dominik Mysterio.
However, in a shock announcement Lee instead entered the ring on this week’s NXT (December 5) with the assistance of a walking cane and informed the world that he would instead be set for surgery after suffering an injury.
While it was not specified by Lee at the time, PWInsider have since reported their belief that Lee’s injury is to his back and it is “100% legitimate”.
It was also noted by Vic Joesph on commentary that Lee’s injury would see him miss between 8-12 months of action, a truly unfortunate setback for the 29-year-old.

In Lee’s absence, a replacement was named for Dominik Mysterio at Deadline, with SmackDown star Dragon Lee set to resume his previous rivalry on Tuesday nights with ‘Dirty’ Dom.
Not only that but WWE Hall of Famer and Dom’s dad Rey Mysterio will be stood in Dragon Lee’s corner for the match, which will be his first appearance since his own knee surgery last month.
JJA Sport Studio would like to extend our well-wishes to Wes Lee in his upcoming surgery and subsequent recovery.

Following the announcement Lee would take to social media to send an emotional message, click here to read on.
