A polarising WWE match type has been officially announced to be returning on next week’s edition of NXT (December 26).

For the second time since it’s extinction in 2020, NXT will be bringing back the infamous Raw Underground once more on next week’s NXT.
The stipulation, as it’s name suggests offers an underground fight-pit type vibe, with several stars surrounding the ring area and the ropes removed and dark and foggy lighting.

It’s arrival in WWE back during the pandemic-era is not fondly remembered by many fans, although this didn’t deter WWE from giving the concept another shot in NXT June as Eddy Thorpe took on Damon Kemp, in a winning effort.
And now as the year wraps up, Thorpe is going to have a chance to make it two-for-two as he once again steps into NXT Underground in an attempt to finally wrap up his rivalry with Dijak.

In reaction to the news Dijak promised that the bout would be one of the year’s best, saying on Twitter:

Thorpe was recently instrumental in ensuring that Dijak didn’t earn a shot at the NXT Championship, by interfering at the very end of the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline.
However, the two men’s issues date back much further, having gone at it for much of the second half of the year.
