An update has emerged on the status of a popular star ahead of this Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank PLE in England.

Previously, it was reported that WWE had held creative talks about Drew McIntyre’s return, whilst Ridge Holland had also said that McIntyre was “fine” and would likely return to WWE.
McIntyre has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 39, although he has performed company duties as a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has provided an update on whether we can expect to see McIntyre at The O2 in London, England this Friday or Saturday.

Addressing the subject in the PW Insider Q&A for this week, Johnson replied:
“Nothing new that we’ve heard. There were some in the company confident he would be back with the current UK tour and Money in the Bank, but he’s not on the tour and some of those same sources were far less confident in recent days, as we mentioned in the Elite section.
“If they have decided to pull the trigger and bring him back Saturday, it’s being well hidden thus far.”

McIntyre was out recovering from being banged up after WrestleMania, but his WWE contract also expires in February and the two sides have yet to agree on a new deal.
McIntyre has had two runs in WWE and is a triple crown champion having held the WWE Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship twice, along with being a former WWE Intercontinental Champion.
He also held the NXT Championship for 91 days in 2017, losing the title to Andrade “Cien” Almas at November 2017’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
