Find out what happened in the main event of AEW Revolution 2024 which featured the Young Bucks taking on Darby Allin and Sting in Sting’s final match.
There were big spots all around in the icon Sting’s AEW swansong tonight at AEW Revolution in Greensboro, North Carolina.
After taking a flying leap off a ladder onto a sheet of glass balanced on tables, Darby Allin – whose back was pierced in many, many places and pouring with blood as you can see in the image below this story – was out of the match for a period of time as the carnage continued.
With tables, ladders, chairs and sheets of glass involved there were thrilling moments of resilience as Sting refused to back down in his last match.
With a quick interlude outside the ring which featured the Young Bucks targeting Ricky Steamboat, Ric Flair was in the ring trying to check on Sting.
As Matthew Jackson signaled that he would hit Sting with his own AEW tag team belt, Flair tried to cover Sting with his own body just for the Bucks to deliver kicks to the face to Flair and Steamboat.
However, despite the continued assaults Sting was still able to kick out as he was seemingly entirely alone.
But from out of nowhere, Darby Allin made a thunderous return to knock Nicholas off the top rope and through a table.
Allin landing a bloody coffin drop onto Matthew Jackson as Sting nailed him with a Scorpion Death Drop at the same time, Sting captured the pinfall victory to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship in his final match.
As Sting was only a couple of minutes into his post-match speech, Revolution went off the air.
