A new update has emerged on the status of an AEW star, who’s been missing from in-ring competition for over a year.

With news of this year’s Blood & Guts match passing by without any serious injuries, a casualty of last year’s contest in June 2022, Santana, has had to contend with sitting on the sidelines ever since.
Santana has increased his social media activity recently and seemingly teased that a return is coming soon, and it certainly sounds like that could be the case.

In today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported:
Santana is training for his return.

There continue to be questions regarding Santana’s relationship with former tag partner Ortiz, who also remains contracted to AEW and also hasn’t been on TV for a while.
Konnan recently detailed Santana and Ortiz’s differences, confirming that the two almost got ‘physical’.

While Santana looks to be returning to AEW, another star, RUSH, previously on a one-year-deal with the company, re-signed this week.
Some details have been revealed regarding the former ROH World Champion’s new contract, revealing the “insane” finances involved, so much so that WWE looked to be warned off their interest.
