Ric Flair will be sticking around after the retirement of Sting at AEW Revolution in March 2024 having signed a multi-year deal.
Having been presented to Sting as Tony Khan’s “special gift”, it was later revealed that Flair had signed a two-year contract.
With this taking us to at least October 2025, Flair has recently suggested things he could do in AEW post-Sting’s retirement.
During an appearance on The Wrestling Classic podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about signing with AEW and future plans, saying:
“I’ve known Tony for a long time, we’ve been great friends. And the opportunity just presented itself, probably because of Sting.
“But I’ll be there a couple of years after Sting is gone too. I don’t know what it leads to.
“I’d like to manage my son-in-law. Obviously, I want to be a heel again somewhere.”
His son-in-law would be Andrade El Idolo who WWE expect to return to the company according to a recent report.
Flair’s time to date in AEW hasn’t been without controversy, with a recent promo being cut from AEW Rampage due to the language used.
In response, Flair apologised to Tony Khan and said he would be “more than willing to walk away” if he had embarrassed AEW.
