Former Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has become one of WWE’s top stars since her meteoric rise back in 2018.

Becky’s rise has paved the way for many other Irish stars to find their footing in WWE, with more stars coming from the country than ever before.
Three Irish born stars sit at the top of WWE; Becky, Sheamus and Finn Balor, and their are more still coming up through NXT, namely recent NXT call-up JD McDonagh and Lyra Valkyria.
Speaking to Mark Andrews on My Love Letter To Wrestling, Becky discussed helping to put Ireland on the map, heaping praise on Valkyria, believing that she’ll be a ‘huge star’ in the future.

She said:
“This all started 21 years ago, and to have at least five major stars in WWE that all came from that little Irish scene. We’ve got Sheamus, we’ve got Finn, we’ve got Jordan, and now we’ve got Lyra Valkyria, who is just phenomenal and is going to be a huge star in the future.
“So, coming from the grassroots from where it started, knowing what it looked like on day one, I don’t know if anybody would have predicted it.”

Becky recently made comments suggesting that she has been approached by someone regarding the potential of WWE running a premium live event in Ireland.
Becky returned on this week’s episode of Raw, confronting Trish Stratus for the first time since her heel turn on Lynch last month.
