Almost a year on from his last WWE match on the May 20, 2022 episode of Smackdown, Randy Orton’s in-ring future remains in as much doubt as ever.

While there were rumors of a return during WrestleMania 39 season, that didn’t happen and eventually those rumors were played down to the media because WWE didn’t want people thinking Orton was returning when he wasn’t.
However, Randy’s father Bob Orton has now provided an update while speaking with Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter.
Bob Orton noted that he believes Randy has been advised by doctors not to return to the ring.
Noting that Randy has been training, Bob Orton said:

“He’s training so we’ll see what happens. I don’t know if he feels like going back.
“If he feels like going back or if he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might.
“Then again, he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to. I think the doctors have told him not to.

Despite this, Bob Orton would maintain that if Randy wants to return, that’s likely what will end up happening, saying:
“Randy will do what Randy is gonna do, he always does.”

Fightful Select did recently report that Orton has told people close to him that “he’s not done wrestling”.
We at JJA Sport Studio would like to continue to offer our well-wishes to Randy in his ongoing recovery.
