An update has emerged on ‘moving parts’ surrounding Kairi Sane (KAIRI) returning to WWE, following reports about her comeback.

As previously reported, Kairi Sane is set to return to WWE after honoring several more dates in Japan.
This news was surprising for some, with Kairi presented as a star in STARDOM and NJPW, even becoming the first woman to hold the IWGP Women’s Championship.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there’s more to the story of Kairi returning to WWE.

Noting that there are a lot of ‘different moving parts’ in Japan right now Meltzer noted:
“There is more to the story and it probably won’t come out until 2024. But there’s more to the story.
“The gist of everything is that there’s a lot of different moving parts going on in Japan that probably helped make the decision.”

Kairi recently announced in a press conference that she’ll be taking an ‘indefinite hiatus’ at the end of September, citing her loss of the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mercedes Mone as a factor in her decision.
WWE was not specifically mentioned during this press conference.
After winning a tournament for the gold in November 2022, Kairi only made one successful defence of the IWGP Women’s Championship before dropping the title to Mercedes Mone at the Battle In The Valley event in February.
Dave Meltzer previously reported that Kairi’s expected return date to WWE is “maybe November” after she finishes her bookings in Japan.
