Tiffany Stratton has commented on why she was told by WWE that she wasn’t allowed to use the moniker she used as a bodybuilder.

In a recent chat with ComicBook.com Tiffany Stratton shared the reason why she wasn’t able to have the nickname of her choice, a little thing about trademarks.
Boo!

Stratton said:
“The whole Barbie stuff, I actually wanted to be called the ‘Buff Barbie Doll’ since the very beginning.
“I pitched the Barbie stuff for a while and they always told me that, ‘Oh, we can’t trademark Barbie. It’s already a thing.’
“But I was actually — so when I was a bodybuilder, I got on (the) little Snapchat stories thing and they called me the ‘Buff Barbie Doll’ and I thought it was so cool.
“It matched perfectly and then I tried to bring it to WWE and they told me no but, I think just with the Barbie movie coming out, I think it was just the perfect time to put my name in the Barbie letters, the pink gear and just kind of incorporate some Barbie stuff there.”

Stratton successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship at Great American Bash in a match against Thea Hail in Barbie inspired gear in a submission match.
Stratton would go on to lose the title to main roster star Becky Lynch after Lynch looked to become a Grand Slam Champion by capturing the last title that eluded her.
Tiffany Stratton is set to face off against Becky Lynch in a re-match for her recently lost WWE NXT Women’s Championship.
